Description

Not only do these Spooky Mummy Hot Dogs taste fabulous, but they also exude a festive and joyful vibe that seems to bring the mystery and joy of Halloween into the mix.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 count) hot dogs
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Mustard or ketchup, for decorating

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.

Step 2:

  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles.
  • Using a knife, slice each triangle into thin strips, resembling bandages.

Step 3:

  • Take a hot dog and wrap it with the prepared crescent roll strips, leaving a small gap near the top to create the “mummy’s face”.
  • Continue wrapping until the entire hot dog is covered, slightly overlapping the strips.
  • Place the wrapped hot dog onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Repeat with the remaining hot dogs.

Step 4:

  • Once all the hot dogs are wrapped, bake them in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Step 5:

  • Remove the mummy hot dogs from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  • Using a squeeze bottle or a small spoon, add dots of mustard or ketchup onto each mummy to create eyes.

Step 6:

  • Serve the mummy hot dogs warm, with extra mustard or ketchup for dipping if desired.

Notes

  • For an extra spooky touch, you can use black food coloring gel to dye the mustard or ketchup for the eyes.
  • Feel free to get creative with the wrapping technique to make each mummy hot dog unique!
  • These mummy hot dogs can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven before serving.
